August – October 2017
This summer I am doing a number of kids’ workshops for the Cartoon Museum. There are also additional dates for workshops with a host of different comic and manga artists so please check out the rest of the schedule on the Cartoon Museum website.
Comic-Strip Masterclass with Karen Rubins
11am – 3.30pm
NOT FOR BEGINNERS! If you’ve got the basics under your belt – perhaps you’ve been
to our workshops before – here’s where you’ll learn professional methods of working in a series of fun, lively exercises for aspiring comics and manga artists.
Ages 10-14 Please bring a packed lunch.
Laydeez Do Comics is a brilliant monthly meeting where ladies and gentlemen talk about comics, with guest speakers and usually cake!
I will be talking about my new comics storytelling card game, Comic Turns, which I will be launching on Kickstarter in the near future. You will have a chance to play the game as well as hear about its development and evolution as I take my foray into the Tabletop Games world.
The evening also features Rebecca Fox talking about her work.
Entry is free but donations are appreciated. Please book in advance.
Runs from 2 -5pm on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th October
Suitable for ages 11-16
What better way to spend your half-term holiday than making your own comics? On Day 1 you will learn all the different skills you will need to make comics, on Day 2 you will be putting them into practice by creating your own story and artwork.
