August 2013 – April 2014

Manga Extravaganza @ Canada Water Library
Aug 13 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

This is a free family event, which will showcase children’s artwork and provide the opportunity for children to meet a graphic artist, Karen Rubins.

There will be an exhibition of young people’s manga artwork, a manga demonstration and workshop, and the winners of the Manga Art Clash Competition will be revealed!

You will also have the opportunity to ask Karen any burning questions about making comics and manga.

Although the event is free, you must book by email. (See address above.)

CityRead London Comics Workshops “Your Country Needs You … To Make Comics!” @ Canada Water Library
Apr 19 @ 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm

As part of CityRead London I am running comics workshops for 8 – 12 year olds across London.

Join comics creator Karen Rubins to make your own comic strips set during the First World War. Put yourself in the shoes of a Londoner, and decide how you would react to the propaganda posters of the time.

Details of all the CityRead events happening in London can be found on the CityRead website.

These workshops are free but booking is required. Please check with the individual library for details.
