I’ll be all up and down Newham, running workshops for kids aged 7-11 for the Summer Reading Challenge. This year’s theme is Roald Dahl.

George’s home-made medicine caused his granny and farm animals to grow to a giant sizes. Join me at various locations throughout Newham to draw your own comic strip based on the wacky adventure George’s Marvellous Medicine. Come along!

I will be in the Comic Village at London Comic Con once again!

As well as back copies of The Phoenix, collaborative comic-jam adventure Alidade and Gangster Fairy cautionary tale Tony Cinderello, I will also have new prints for sale, and will be doing sketch commissions and manga portraits.

Come along to my table, CK6 in the Comic Village,  which I am sharing with the amazing Francesca Dare. This little guy will also be there.

Just to note, I will only be there on Friday and Saturday. Francesca will be around on Sunday too though.

I will be a guest at the Sharjah International Book Fair! It’s all very exciting!

While there I am running manga and comics workshops for children and teenagers, between the dates of 2nd and 6th November. Please contact the organisers for details.

There are also lots of other things happening and guests who are far more interesting than me, I assure you.

Comics Plus is a library service where you can borrow digital comics and read them on your computer or device. And it’s all free! So to celebrate this amazing technological advancement, come to Hounslow and Heston libraries for a very low-fi comics workshop!

Join Karen Rubins, artist of The Phoenix Comic’s  Shivers series, to make your own comics! Create the scariest monster you can think of, and a hero to confront it, then write and draw your own comic strip to decide what happens when they meet.

This session is open to children 7 – 11 years old and their parents or carers. Come and create awesome collaborations!

Easter Daze: Comic Masterclass (Waltham Forest) @ Leyton Library

This masterclass is for ages 11 – 14 and is part of Waltham Forest’s Holiday Activity Programme

If you’re interested in comics or love drawing manga and you want to take your skills to the next level, this Comics Masterclass is for you. Join comics artists Karen Rubins and Tammy Taylor in a week long workshop, where you will create your own comic strip or manga story from beginning to end. Learn drawing, writing, and design skills, develop techniques and style, and try out professional comic-making materials. Participants will need to bring a packed lunch and plenty of soft drinks.

Classes are from 3 – 7 April, 10:00am – 3:30pm

The masterclass is free, all materials are provided, but please book online to ensure a place.

The workshops are inclusive of children with SEN and/or disabilities, however if your child does have additional needs please contact the organiser on 020 8496 3000 so they can ensure the provider can meet the needs of your child.

I will be attending OxCon in Oxford for the first time! I am exhibiting in the South Halls, where you can find many other exciting comics creators such as Neill Cameron of the Phoenix and my sometime collaborators Richy K Chandler and Paul Shinn. Daniel Hartwell will also be around, and you might just catch him at the table!

I will be doing sketches and portraits as well as having many comics to sell!
