About me

I am an award-winning professional comics creator (and former librarian) living and working in London, UK. I invented and designed the comics storytelling game Comic Turns, and ran a successful Kickstarter to fund it in March 2018. I am also the artist on spooky kids’ series The Shivers for The Phoenix comic, collaborating with writer Daniel Hartwell, and we are currently working on new projects together!

I am always looking for new opportunities, and I welcome interest from any writers, publishers or creators wishing to collaborate. You can read some of my comics on the comics page. I’m also available for small and large illustration commissions. Visit the illustration page for examples of my work. If you have any queries, please use the contact form to get in touch.

I run workshops, courses, and talks on all aspects of comics, manga and graphic novels for adults, young people and kids. If you wish to book me for an event, at your school, library, or other organisation, you can find out more on the workshops page. Unfortunately I cannot answer enquiries from individuals looking to attend a workshop – but all upcoming events open to the public are listed on the calendar.

I have a BA in Visual Communication Design (Illustration), and have been making comics since my first indie comic in the year 2000. I am still self-publishing and contributing to indie books and will probably never stop! My work spans all kinds of settings and genres, from adventure to comedy to horror.

In 2009 I was the official Comics Artist in Residence at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. For six months I worked in a studio at the V&A, using the collections as inspiration and research, and running workshops for different groups of museum visitors, including young people, school groups, adult refugees, and a general adult audience.

I am influenced by comics and graphic novels from all over the world, particularly indie titles from the UK and US, and Japanese manga. My inspiration comes from many sources: comics, films, books, dreams and even real life. I love myths and legends, history, politics, and wondering what makes people tick.
